Baltimore's city slogan was once "The City That Reads". Feeling hypocritical they renamed it to "The Greatest City in America".
Now its slogan is simply "BELIEVE"

They decided to build a bridge over the widest point of one of the longest rivers in the world because they wanted to be close to NYC, but far enough away that they didn't fall under the jurisdiction of the Port Authority.

I was playing guitar by my place on West 22nd street when a gentleman named Nick Chelmu came out of his place across the street and heard me playing Oh Comley by Neutral Milk Hotel. He came over and introduced himself and I played a few more NMH songs and he sang along. Then he went in his place and grabbed a drum and we started rocking out a little bit for the masses. This is us crudely yet dutifully playing Jerusalem by Dan Bern.
